What Is Theology and Why Is It Important?
Theology is the study of God, who He is, what He has revealed about Himself, and how that truth shapes our lives. It is not abstract speculation or academic curiosity, but careful thinking about God grounded in Scripture. Every believer already has a theology, whether examined or assumed, because the way we think about God inevitably shapes the way we worship, trust, obey, and live. Studying theology helps us know God more accurately, guard against misunderstanding and false teaching, and grow in a faith that is both informed and deeply rooted. In short, theology matters because knowing God rightly leads to loving Him more faithfully and living in light of His truth.
