Priorities - Part 2: The Selfless Life
Sermon Recap
In this message from the Priorities series, Pastor Ryan Lovett looks at the Law of Christ and the parable of the Good Samaritan to show what biblical love looks like in everyday life. Jesus calls us to love God with everything we are and to love our neighbor as ourselves, but busyness, exhaustion, self-protection, and convenience can quietly keep us from living that out. Through Luke 10, we discover three simple actions that help move us out of self-first living: notice, stop, and serve. We learn to become aware of the people God places in front of us, make room in our lives for compassion, and take practical action to bear one another’s burdens.
Weekly Scripture to Memorize
“3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Before the Good Samaritan could stop and serve, he first had to notice. Discover how developing biblical compassion helps us become more aware of the people and burdens God has placed around us.
